Judge's Choice Award!

I had the great pleasure of spending the last weekend of April in New Hampshire at their state professional photographer's conference. I was able to present one of my programs, "Certification Crash Course - the how and why of becoming a Certified Professional Photographer" to a great group of photographers, and had a wonderful time with some great folks up there. As a part of every state association, there is always a print competition at the conference. It's a great forum to enter images, and New Hampshire is special because the panel of judges are usually nationally affiliated, which means they hold the images to a very high standard, and scores from that panel of judges are likely to hold when the images are presented at the national level.

For the first time ever, I was absolutely speechless when presented with the Judge's Choice award for this print, titled "You Don't Play Ball Anymore"

Each of the judges have the opportunity to present the award to their favorite print of the competition. With over 275 images in the competition, I was overwhelmed that one of the judges connected at such a level with this print.

The subject of the image, Buddy, was a remarkable dog, and I blogged about him a while ago shortly after his session.

I had several other prints in the competition, all of which did very well. I'll be sending them on to the national competition, with judging taking place in June. Awards at the national level are hard to come by, and last year there were over 7,000 images in the competition.

Here are the other images being submitted:

"Can We Talk?"

"Geek Squad"

"Snug As A Bug"
